Romanee Conti 1985 Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Cote de Nuits, Grand Cru What makes the DRC wines so famous? Unquestionably, they literally stand alone in the vintage somewhat like the mythical city of Minas Tirith in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, a bright, shining empire that cannot be matched for beauty or power. In vintages such as the 2003, 1999, and 1990, no Pinot Noir in the world comes remotely close to what the DRC achieves. Romanee-Conti's extraordinary perfume, power, and penetration make it special.
